Size & Weight Savings
Lithium v AGM Capacities;
- 100Ah Lithium = 160Ah AGM
- 125Ah Lithium = 200Ah AGM
- 200Ah Lithium = 320Ah AGM
(Based on standard depth of discharge for both Lithium (80%) and AGM (50%).
The ePOWER B-TEC battery provides 60% more usable power than its equivalent lead acid cousin and being nearly 50% lighter and 30% smaller makes for a superior alternative.
The ePOWER B-TEC battery is perfect for camper trailers, 4WD’s (AUX battery), caravans, small water craft, low power communication sites or any other application that requires the use of a single deep cycle battery that meets the amp hour capacity.
With over 7 years of researching, designing and testing lithium batteries and the associated charging systems, Enerdrive are at the forefront of lithium battery systems in Australia. Enerdrive are the only Australian company that can supply a fully integrated self-branded energy system to suit your setup.
With over 3000 complete systems in operation Australia wide, Enerdrive is regarded as the leader in the field of lithium batteries and energy systems for Mobile, Marine and Remote applications.
Please Note; The B-TEC battery is capable to be paralleled to a second B-TEC battery of the same size. For maximum performance and lifespan of your B-TEC battery, no more than 2 batteries should be connected together to increase your overall capacity. Overall loads when paralleled should not exceed the current limits of a single batteries BMS.
If you are requiring a battery system larger than ePOWER B-TEC battery, please look at the Enerdrive Pro Series Power Pack Systems which can offer multiple parallel and series connections with Active Cell Balancing Protection across the entire pack.

B-TECH Parallel Tech Note (from Enerdrive)
Paralleling of B-TEC Batteries – As you may be aware, Enerdrive have long been against the Paralleling of Internal BMS batteries. This has been from the experiences we have had and seen over the last 8 years of using Lithium’s in a commercial capacity. Although the Batteries may be able to be connected in Parallel, these batteries are not always sold with taking the application into account. From our experience due to the very low voltage difference of a lithium battery between full and 20% SOC underload. When 2 batteries are in parallel, the power doesn’t always pull evenly from each battery as the battery with the higher voltage (Lower Internal resistance) will deliver the power. For this reason, each BMS needs to be capable of handling the full load of the system. An example of the is; If 2 x 100AH Lithium batteries with an internal BMS that can handle 100A each are put into a system, the max load on the system should still be only 100A.
Both Scenarios below assume 2 x 100AH Lithium with a BMS rated to 100A each.
Scenario 1: The Consumer only runs a fridge, lights, TV and a 1000w inverter for the odd thing. They never exceed 100A load and don’t run the batteries flat. They may never have or see any Issues.
Scenario 2: The Consumer sees they have 200Ah of lithium and decide to connect a 2000w Inverter, which running at full load can be drawing approx. 180A from the battery bank. Effectively the load will not pull evenly off the 2 batteries, 1 BMS will always switch OFF before the other putting all the load on the remaining BMS, which at 180A will overload. So when the Batteries shut down like this (never simultaneously) , the Inverter will try to pull power from the remaining battery. The overloaded BMS (remaining battery) will be over run and ultimately fatigue, causing premature failure.
Normally the only place that still has power would be the solar controller output which would then inject unfiltered power into the inverter before the inverter shuts down due to a lack of power. When this occurs, in the milliseconds it takes the solar controller to realise it has no place to go, it may spike the system with solar voltage slowly damaging other equipment. By using a single Enerdrive 200AH B-TEC with the internal BMS capable of 200AH, you can then safely run your 2000w inverter without overloading the BMS. The same goes for the 200AH B-TEC, if running 2 in parallel it does not mean you can run a 3000W Combi. Due to Enerdrive not being able to know where every battery was going and into what application we decided to make a commercial decision to just do a blanket no paralleling policy for the B-TEC batteries and instead recommend people use a single battery capable of the task at hand. We still recommend this approach for internal BMS batteries, but if the installation has been deemed appropriately suited to parallel batteries (loads not exceeding rating of 1 BMS) then you will also need to be aware of the following things.
- Each battery should be charged to full separately first and left 1/2 Hr to rest and a max 0.2V difference between the batteries before connecting together (this will make sure the batteries are as close to being balanced at the start)
- Parallel cables between the batteries shall be at least the size of the Main battery cables but the larger the better.
- When connecting the Main battery cables you must make sure you cross wire the Battery Bank. .i.e. Positive to first Battery in the Bank, Negative to the last battery in the Bank (see diagram below)
- The Enerdrive B-TECH Bluetooth App (available for Apple and Android Systems) will only show 1 battery in the bank at a time and the batteries may get slightly out of sync. So make sure that you watch each battery and make sure you don’t take any one battery below its cut-out point.
- If you notice the SOC% of the batteries getting more than 10-20% out of sync, the Batteries should be separated and charged separately back to 100% and then reconnected (see first Point) to maintain the capacity of the overall Bank.
- DO NOT exceed the load limits of a single BMS.
- We also recommend that an external SOC% battery monitor is fitted for overall battery bank capacity and connect this to a Low Battery Cut-out to shut loads OFF at around 20%SOC to prevent taking any battery to its cut-out point.
For large systems that use Inverter/Charger Combi units, have large solar arrays and for people wanting to run Air-conditioning, Enerdrive still recommend upgrading to the Enerdrive White Pro Series that not only looks after the battery but the whole system by shutting down charging systems via each unit rather than just isolating the path to the Cells and also isolate loads while still allowing Chargers to access the battery. The external component approach to the White Pro systems BMS allows for infield Fault finding, service and the ability for the Enerdrive Tech team to get you out of trouble if the need arises. Other benefits of the Enerdrive White Pro System is less individual Cells, Active Balancing, Heavy duty components and a 5year Warranty that extends to the supplied Enerdrive Charging equipment and backed up by Enerdrive’s renowned Tech Support.
